What is

The Roundhouse Collective?

.

I get asked this question a lot. The idea for my business is bigger than just little old me. It was birthed from the idea that we often times need many different things to support ourselves. I am a small studio owner who believes in the collective ability and approach to healing. It takes a village, at every stage and every age of humanity.

.

My approach to wellness is equally as demanding and complex as the human body. And, I am surrounded by highly intelligent and gifted practitioners that I will refer out to and call upon when something is either out of my scope of practice, or we need a second or third or even fourth set of hands, hearts, and eyes on a particular issue.

.

Durango is home to many skilled practitioners and I call upon my community often. I believe in acupuncture, herbalism, chiropractors, and other specifically skilled massage therapists. Below are the talented individuals that share the studio with me.

Gabe Petty

Owner of The Roundhouse Collective

I started practicing massage in 2017 on the Big Island of Hawaii after completing school at Aloha Massage Academy. After leaving Hawaii I continued to practice in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. Now, I get to claim home in wonderful Durango Colorado.

.

My technique is a combination of all the modalities I have grown to love; Tui Na, Lomi Lomi, myofascia release, trigger point, Traiger technique, trauma informed touch, and end of life touch. I believe that our body is a master machine, needing of many approaches while we learn how to work through that which our body is saying. Everything is connected and my job is to help you learn how to work out the tangles.

.

My goal in each session is to create a fluid conversation between you, your body, and my hands. Working to find the areas of stuck, painful (physically and emotionally), rigid, cold, silenced, and otherwise offline muscles. Then, using any and all techniques to get them back online and in communion as a whole functioning system.

.

In sessions I incorporate tools such as hot stones, gua sha/scraping tools, cups, hot & cold towels, herbal allies and essential oils to help ease, sooth, loosen, and encourage the muscles to become more enlivened.

Brianna Gunnarson

Owner of Encompass Massage & Bodywork

My bodywork journey started in 2015 at the Holistic Life Institute, and it was only the launching pad, which led her to Kona Lani Shambhava Yoga 2018 and then beyond to complete her massage program at Rogue community college in 2024.

.

My work is tailored to each person i encounter and I pull from all of my years of training. I find my reason why in helping people become fully embodied and back to a place of center. I both ask and encourage questions as the body is complex and is forever an opportunity to expand my learning. I value in depth understanding of how each individual uses their bodies and what their specific goals are.

.

I draw from many modalities but the ones I feel most connected to and draw upon most often are fascia work, neuro-muscular, deep engagement of the muscle, stretching and dynamic movement with a Swedish flow blending it all into a cohesive session.

It is an honor to be an ally on peoples healing journey and it why I deeply love massage.
